Idioglot (also Idioglott) (adj.)
Term used for single reeds, the tongue of which is cut into their base; If damaged, such a reed has to be replaced entirely; If cut directly in the tube(s) of so-called "primitive clarinets", replacement is impossible, of course; ➺ Heteroglot and Violioglot.
Usually made of Spanish cane (Arundo donax) or elder (Sambucus nigra).
